Holiday home ownership – your questions answered

When can I use my holiday home?
Any time you like during the owners season, which is 11 months long. We will give you the opening and closing dates and you can come and go as you please – weekends, weeks or longer periods.
Can I use my holiday home outside of the summer months?
Yes, modern holiday homes have very high levels of insulation and can include double glazing and central heating, plus there are different types of heating.
Can I live in my holiday home as my only home?
Our holiday homes are for holiday use only, although you can stay as often as you like throughout the season. You will need to have a main residential address away from the park, though this need not be in the UK.
Can I choose where I have my holiday home on the park?
Yes – you’ll be given a guided tour of the park when you visit and shown the various locations that are available to you. Silver Sands offers a choice of great locations to site your holiday home. Choose a pitch close to the main complex or one in a quieter, more secluded part of the park.If you are considering a luxury lodge, you can choose a premium pitch on our new luxury lodge development, The Fairways.
Are other people allowed to use my caravan?
Absolutely – it’s your holiday home and you can let family and friends use it, visit and stay with you. You can also take part in our managed sub-let scheme, where we take control of letting for you (subject to age, style and condition of holiday home). Contact our team to see how much you could earn.
Are there additional charges after I’ve bought my holiday home?
Apart from utility bills, water, rates and insurance, you pay an annual site fee which contributes towards the maintenance, future development and running costs of the park.
Can you help with the financial arrangements?
Yes – we can advise on the best way to finance your purchase. We can offer a range of flexible, competitive finance options. Finance is available subject to status, written details are available on request.
I have a holiday home on another park, can I move it to Silver Sands?
Unfortunately due to the high demand for pitches and the high quality caravan holiday homes and lodges we offer at Silver Sands, we do not accept caravans from other parks. If you would like to join us however, we may take your current caravan in part exchange against selected models.
How quickly can we move in?
If you buy one of our pre-owned holiday homes, a show home or showground display models, we can normally arrange for you to move in within seven days of agreeing your purchase. If you are financing your purchase or ordering a specific new model, this could take a little longer.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes! We welcome dogs at Silver Sands. Pets are your responsibility and must be looked after at all times. You must clean up after them and ensure they are not a nuisance to other owners and guests on the park.
