Explore Scotland in May and June at Silver Sands. Our holiday park in Scotland on the Moray Firth coast is ideal for breaks by the sea where you can explore this stunning region.
It’s also a great time of year for those who like quieter breaks. At this time of year you can avoid the hustle and bustle that’s so often associated with a break in the busy summer holidays.
But, away from the beautiful beaches, must-visit destinations and award-wining attractions what else is there to do in Scotland in May and June? Well, the simple answer is… rather a lot! Take a look at our mini guide for more inspiration…
Scotland in May and June: events guide
- Gordon Castle Highland Games & Country Fair, May 19th: Entering its ninth year, the annual family event looks forward to welcoming over 10,000 national and international visitors to the north east of Scotland.
- Moray Walking & Outdoor Festival 2019: From the foothills of the Cairngorms to Moray’s award-winning coastline you can enjoy long Midsummer days discovering Moray’s natural, historical and cultural landscape with the Moray Walking & Outdoor Festival 2019. 10 days of events with a choice every day.
- Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, May 1-3: While the main focus of this festival will be on the aqua vitae, there’s a wide-ranging programme of events going on in the meantime. Distilleries, shops, restaurants, pubs and villages throughout Speyside – home to more than half of Scotland’s whisky distilleries – will welcome people from far and wide.
Where should you visit this May and June?
The Grampians is a region of sandy beaches, majestic mountains and historic castles. The mountains dominate the skyline to the west, while miles of unspoiled sandy beaches and dramatic coastline frame the area to the east.
From our park you can visit the beautiful city of Inverness, with its historic buildings and contemporary shopping. Slightly further afield, Aberdeen’s granite buildings and historic past combine with a wealth of modern shops and restaurants to create an elegant city that is a must see.
But holidays in Scotland are all about the great outdoors. And, whether it’s the sparkling nearby beaches, seeing if you can track down the Loch Ness Monster or simply trekking up one of the nearby mountain ranges, you simply have to get out there and enjoy the outdoors in all its glory.
